To say I’m distraught today would be an understatement ..

10 years ago today the sun shined a little less bright in the world and I lost my best friend 😢

@thepowherhub as a storytelling and filmmaking company ultimately exists because of her. I can only hope she’s watching over me and proud . I’d ( @the_larae ) walk for hours and hours as a kid as she recounted absolute horrific events of war, death camps, coming to America and struggling and ultimately being able to survive have friends and an opportunity for her girls to be safe.

I’m alive because of her tenacity and will to survive horrors we hope to never experience again in our lifetime as a #refugee coming here for something better.

Why do we focus on real stories? Why do we focus on social issues and justice and showcasing the reality of life? Impactful storytelling to invoke a positive change?
